1Do I really need a power supply filter ?
It may sound simplistic, but the real answer is always "YES". Just as electricity becomes SOUND, in the same way electrical noise becomes DISTURBANCE that compromises the quality of reproduction. Power filters eliminate noise before it enters the system, leaving only what is needed for the music.
2Why does Apotema only have 'PARALLEL' filters ?
Because they are the only ones that have only advantages and no negative effects. In contrast to 'series' type filters, which always generate a loss of dynamics due to resistive and reactive components that limit the transmission of energy.
3What results can I achieve with Apotema filters ?
The elimination of noise is fundamental to bring out all the harmonic and spatial micro information that contributes to recreating a more realistic and involving sound event. This information is usually at a very low level, close to the lower limit of the dynamic range, and is therefore more exposed to masking by background noise. Lowering the noise level increases real dynamics, information emerges and the quality of reproduction improves.
4How do you connect 'PARALLEL' filters ?
The filters are connected in exactly the same way as the other elements of the system: they are plugged in, either directly or via a power cable, to one of the free sockets of the multisocket that supplies the system.
As these devices operate in parallel, they are not subject to power limits.
The only exception is the Noise Killer, which despite being a "parallel" type filter is positioned between the power cable and the electronics to be powered, and in this case the load limit is that of the plugs and sockets used, which by the standard adopted amounts to 10A / 2.4kW.
5Can several filters be used at the same time? With what advantages ?
An unlimited number of filters, of the same or different types, can be placed side by side to achieve a synergetic effect. For example, you can start with one Black Hole and then add a second one. Similarly, you can add one or more Noise Killers to a Materik to achieve highly effective 'distributed' filtering.
6Which filter is the right one for me ?
There are many variables to consider in making a targeted choice, probably too many.
That is why we decided to allow our customers to test our filters without obligation. We are convinced that this is the quickest way to appreciate their value, evaluating in the field their contribution in enhancing reproduction quality and listening pleasure.
7What if I do not perceive any improvement ?
A well-dimensioned and correctly fitted trough always brings an appreciable benefit.
However, if this does not happen you can return the product to us and get a full refund.
